"What does it mean to be Malaysian?"

Hands down, THE best Merdeka weekend ever. Ever! :)
"What Does It Mean To Be Malaysian" was superb! It was so funny and witty and easy to relate to - and on top of that, the actors were so talented! My tutor included. ;)

Luckily Uncle Segar could drive us there. :D
And luckily I printed out the map to KLPAC!

Sentul West is gorgeous. It turns out KLPAC (Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre) is located in Sentul West! Sentul Park is there too. It's just so beautiful, almost like a different country altogether. Hahaha.

In my kan-cheong-ness (thanks to the ticket sales office lady I spoke to over the phone), I thought we were late - but as it turns out, not only were we the FIRST to arrive, we were also nearly 45 minutes early. HAHAHA.
The doors would only open at 3pm, so the silver lining was that we had plenty of time to check out the place! :D It was also the first time any of us had been there. Ehe.
In fact, I don't think I would have ever taken the initiative to go and catch a play if it weren't for the fact that someone I knew was starring in it! :)
And because we were so EARLY, we also got to make friends with some of my tutor's friends and fellow T4YP actors. Hahaha. One of them, Oliver, told me that the actors were asked to do some sort of exhibition of what they think being Malaysian means - and then he showed me what Ujval did. Hahahha.
The one on the far right is Ujval's. So funnay!
And because we were so EARLY, Vanessa and Joel decided to help out with decorating the scrapbook-flag. With colour pencils.

And because we were so EARLY, we went around posing with all the cool artwork in the centre.
All the paintings had signs that said "Please do not touch" - and it LOOKS like I'm touching the painting, but I'm not - my hand was a whole inch away! :D I just managed to create the optical illusion that I'm touching the cup. Serious.

Joel had a humongous Toblerone chocolate bar to keep him happy. :)
There was no T-shirt or souvenier for the play we were watching, but there were loads for the "Tunku" play ASTRO's been advertising a lot. Not wanting to pay RM15-20 for a shirt to remember a play I didn't watch, we just quickly took a picture with it. HAHAHA.
Never underestimate the resourcefulness of a cheapskate.
Ohh, and because we were so EARLY, I bumped into some of my Monash School of A.S.S. (Arts & Social Sciences) coursemates! :)

And although we were so EARLY, before we knew it, it was showtime! :D
Below is the ONLY picture I took of the play. There weren't any "No Camera" signs, but we decided not to take any pictures of the play - just in case we weren't allowed to! But this one below, they were just lying there, the show hadn't begun yet - so it's not counted. Haha. :D

After the play (it was only 70 minutes, not 3 hours like I had guessed), we went exploring around the outdoors part of the place! :D

We had our own play also.
My character was the Lamp Post. ;)

Beautiful place, right? :)

I didn't know Joel was doing this. JOEL!!
Hahahha.
My coursemates were also doing the same exploring! Heehee!

Happy Belated Birthday, Besh. :)
