The first day of my internship at ARROW today was really fun, although I can still smell the fumes from the freshly-painted everything. They've just moved from opposite KL Central to Jalan Scott (in Brickfields), so the place is still under renovation until next week - that's when I'll be returning there again.
Can't wait to see the whole place when it's all dolled up! :D Smooth wooden floorboards, gorgeous library, air-conditioned, fully-carpeted boardrooms............
Can't wait for the ARROW Housewarming Party on December 5th! :D Sulo, sweet, kind, Sulo, has offered to give me a lift back home after the party, so no worries about it ending late into the night! :D Yippeeee~
Although the workload is starting to unnerve me already. Haha. My friend May Yen (she's my fellow intern at ARROW!) and I attended a Marketing Strategy Brainstorming Meeting today, and our research work begins once Ambika e-mails us the template for data entry.
Until then... I'm still organising my shelves and sorting through my things from this semester. o_O
Another milestone to blog about - took the LRT all by myself for the first time! :D I'm so proud of myself, hahahahaha, I've never felt this independent in my whole life.
"Working", "travelling", compulsively befriending strangers at LRT stations and on the LRT (I swear I don't just go up to people and introduce myself, it usually starts by me asking someone if I'm on the right platform) ... And I don't know how I wind up talking up a storm with - of all people - sales promoters.
It's a habit... good or bad, don't know. ;)
On other news... decided not to volunteer at charity organisations this year, due to lack of time and transport. Between the unexpected internship, my summer classes, the job I'm still hoping to get, and determinedly trying to enjoy my holiday, it's probably safe to say I should stop before I bite off more than I can chew (if I haven't already!). Haha.
Pyramid tomorrow! Bazaar on Saturday! :D
I hope I can rest on Sunday. :'(
But I have work deadlines now... kinda like assignment deadlines.
Hahaha. May Yen says it's like doing another big assignment, right after the exams.
But still! I'm actually an "intern" now! Regardless of how silly anyone else may think I'm being, *I* think that's mind-blowingly cool! Hahaha! But while I thought I would be photocopying documents, making coffee (*snort* as if I know how to make coffee!), organising folders, what we've been tasked to is really very different than those things!
More updates on the internship as it progresses. :)
Again, I'm so grateful for the opportunity! :D
(But it's not like anyone from ARROW knows this blog even exists.)
Hehehe. Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!
