Pondicherry Sundaye Lucknow

Exam results are out! :) Liang shocked me yesterday by telling me exam results always come out the evening *before* the "official date" stated on the my.monash portal, so at least I was slightly more mentally prepared! Hahaha!

But WES (Web Enrolment System - also where we check our exam marks online) was unavailable all afternoon, so I thought, maybe it's only at midnight tonight or tomorrow at noon - but just as I was about to go offline, Shaza called and shrieked that the exam results are out!

OMGOMGOMG right?!

So while she refused to end the call, she coo-ed and cuddled her nephew (who she was babysitting while listening to my bated breath on the other end of the line) while I clicked into my exam results page. It was about 5.30pm.

Anyway!! So I did better than I expected - but see, I didn't have time to ask myself, "So, what do I expect to get?" like most people, because I was already clicking into the results page and trying to save Shaza's phone bill (hahahaha) - and I'm just glad all the hard work paid off. :) I learnt a lot from this semester, and am very happy I had the opportunity to take this past semester's units: Feature Writing, Introduction to Communication Studies, Contemporary Worlds 2, and Contemporary Television Studies. :D

All's well that ends well. :) I am thankful for everything, and for the incredible luckiness. 2 of my units were very, very borderline cases re the final grades! So, *phew*! Hahaha. But grades are not the be-all and end-all, and what matters much, much more is how much we have learned from the units. :)

By the way, I have to share with you the best Josh Groban video ever, that Jin just showed to me!! :D Check it out at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7xD59eAnUc - Josh Groban sings bits and pieces of major American TV show theme songs at the 60th Annual Emmy Awards! Aaaah I especially love his bit of "I'll Be There For You" by The Rembrants (theme song for "F.R.I.E.N.D.S.") and the Brady Bunch song! But some of you will love his South Park one! Hahaha!!

Oh, Josh Groban! :)

I wish I could marry someone with either a beautiful voice to sing happy songs or someone really good at drawing! The 2 things that always cheer me up are good songs and watching someone draw! Haha! There's something about the way the pencil grazes the surface of the paper, the graceful sway of the wrists ... that is oddly comforting. ;)

If that isn't strange enough, I've assembled a very unique possible name for my future kid!! :D I behold to you:

Pondicherry Sundaye Lucknow [surname]! :D :D :D

I bounced the idea with my friends May Yen and Hui Yee, and their reactions were both:

"WHAT?"

But whatever it is - is that name cool or what?! Haahahhahaha!!

I picked out my favourite names from the spreadsheets that I'm currently working on for my internship with ARROW (Asian-Pacific Resource & Research Centre for Women). Mum says that Pondicherry is the name of some famous Indian guy. Hahahaha.

Going to see Denise & Carmen tomorrow for dim sum & jalan-jalan at some new place Carmen wants to show us! It seems like it has been a long, long time since I last hung out with these 2 of my best friends!! :D Thank you Carmeny for arranging this - and I quote - "mini b'day celebration" for yours truly. :) <3

Now, where are Tse Mun and Vanessa?? :D Leila, hurry up and come back from Iran! An Nie, call me once your exams are over! Cheryl, don't forget me while you're in Reading! ;)

And on a final note, let our prayers be with the hostages, victims and their families in Mumbai. :( I really don't know what to say - I am so furious at the people who are inflicting such pain and torment on others like this!

After being awoken by a too-perky Shaza this morning with a "RISE AND SHINE!! I'M WAITING OUTSIDE YOUR HOUSE!! WAKE UP, WAKE UP! HEHEHEHEEE!", mum and I watched the breaking news on CNN about the terrorist attacks in Mumbai. The pictures were so gruesome, but the very act of what they are doing itself, that is far more gruesome! :(

It was last reported that at least 100 people have been killed. Nearly 300 others injured.

Hotels and historical sites that tourists visit. Gunmen opened fire in crowded Mumbai train station. In restaurant popular with tourists.

This is a destruction of India's economy, destroying the lives of many and the livelihoods of more. :( Please, please, stop this!!!
