Happy Chinese New Year :)

Why, hello, 2009!

How quickly you fly by - the first month of 2009 is already coming to an end, but the Chinese New Year has only just begun. ;P

In the name of starting new traditions, I've come up with a monthly 8 Things That Happened This Month That I Should Remember roster. Behold, the prototype!

I hope I do one of these for each month! :) You can try it too, I'm sure it will be a lot of fun to look at a whole bunch of these "checklists" after a few years - or even in just a year's time! :D

And possibly thanks to my Shopping Kaki #1 - Shaza, and my precious yellow floral maxi dress (which I am saving for CNY Day 3), I have developed an uncanny thirst for floral patterns and prints. I never thought it would happen, but it has! Suddenly, I see the beauty in flowers! And there's a calling for more yellow apparel in my wardrobe. Yellow, yellow, sunny yellow - my favourite colour, the colour of my favourite flower (sunflower!) and this year's lucky colour for the Dragon! :) (Fun fact: I was born under the Earth Dragon zodiac)

So far, Chinese New Year two-zero-zero-nine has consisted of:

  • Frantic essay-writing on the eve of the eve and the eve
  • Reunion dinner in Uncle Astley & Sylvia's brand-spanking new house in Puchong
  • Playing with my baby cousin, 7-month-old Theodore, every chance I get!
  • Frantic abstract-writing after the reunion dinner
  • Blissful completion of the major essay and all its tag-a-long attachees, e. g. Abstract, Reference list, evidence of sources
  • Chor Yat (CNY Day 1) reunion lunch @ Astley & Sylvia's
In case any non-Chinese readers out there are curious as to what a typical young Malaysian has planned for the rest of CNY, it's:
  • Chor Yee (CNY Day 2) - submission of the major essay @ Monash Uni + reunion lunch @ Grandma's in Serdang, KL
  • CNY Day 3 - Visits to family friends' homes as part of annual "bai nin" ritual, lol
  • Finally, CNY Day 4 - Brain Test in uni, family reunion lunch & then a barbecue at a family friends' house! :D
And that pretty much wraps up a typical CNY celebration for yours truly. :)
How's yours going? :)

PS: You can't see it in this pic, but I got myself a four-inch haircut a few days ago! :D At my favourite RM15 barber salon in Atria! :)
And look who else got a haircut!!! :D
