all the king's prawns

"All the king's horses
and all the king's men
... we ate."

Hahahaha. I love my girlfriends to bits. Birds of a feather TOTALLY, undoubtedly flock together! :P Sorry for the overdoing of the cliches/puns. But my surname does start with P-u-n-(g) ... Hahahahah! OK that was the last pun for this post. :P

Rachel, Cheryl, Angelina and I went to The Curve (and TESCO and IKANO and SS2 Murni and my house twice) today and went home with big soppy, goofy smiles on our faces. :]

All we did was shop and eat and talk and laugh, so I won't sleeping-pill you with the details -- I'll just highlight what I know you want to know: about the FOOD. :D

First, we went to The Curve for lunch. Hey did you guys know they have a 1920's there? I loooove their calamari platter!! :] Want to go and eat there again someday! And the outlet at The Curve has actual walls and privacy -- not like the one in 1-Utama. :]
After much browsing and rumbling of stomachs, we settled on Ah Tuan Ee's Place (walk up the stairs) -- well, we went to its branch/partner/next-door neighbour "Rojak-Rojak". :]
The food was good and affordable! We ordered four dishes and shared among the four of us -- and the bill came up to about RM45.
We (all four of us!) soundly recommend you give the restaurant a try! :] The management and service were also very, very nice to us.
I'm not being paid to advertise (sigh!) but I'm going to give you their contact number here because I think it's seldom you get such good service:
603-77103603 / 012-2903603 (Cheah).
:]

Rachel had one of their two most popular dishes: tomyam noodles something. :] She really liked it -- and all of us tried it, and it was gooooooood. The soup was especially delicious (I speak for myself for that, because I had some of the soup! :]).
Angelina had the chicken rice (I think) and she said it was really, really nice.

Cheryl had something that came out looking EXACTLY like the photograph in the menu. :D
The tauhu bakar thing -- you'll recognise it from the menu right away if you order this. :] It was, naturally, supertasty and nice! I mean, if you order this kind of dish in a restaurant, you can never go wrong. Heheh.
Which is why my policy is (whenever I go out to eat with anyone) is that in EVERY restaurant, there is ALWAYS something you can eat. :] Just don't be superpicky or difficult! Unless, of course, you're allergic to a lot of things. Then it's okay. Heheh.

I had the egg noodle/kon lor meen. It was nice! I thought it was good (eventhough wantan noodles are nicer) but Rachel thought it was grreeeeat. :]
If you order this, just remember to MIX WELL, otherwise it will taste a little dry -- the sauce is all at the bottom. :] And they give soup (really tasty soup, although a bit too much MSG a.k.a. aginomoto/monosodiumglutamate) so you can spoon a little of that in too! :] Nice.
Biiiiig portions though (well, maybe 'cos I tried some of Rachel's and some of Cheryl's) so I could only eat less than half of mine -- hence Rachel and Cheryl helped me finish my plate off. :D
This proves it was good food! Slim girls don't eat rubbish!! :]
After stuffing our stomachs with food :D :D :D ...
we went to "walk it off". :]
So we walked to another source of food, IKANO!
But before that, we went to the Pet Safari and spent hours there! All the animals are incredibly, heartmeltingly CUTE! We also met a parrot and taught it to say "You're So Cute!" and "Hello! Hello!" -- well actually it probably already knew how to say hello, but it said it a lot to us. And I really, honestly think that "You're So Cute" was courtesy of me saying that to the fella. :D :D :D Look I have a gift!!! :]

OK then we really went to IKANO. :] IKEA actually, and looked at all the furniture. My friends even broke a bed! HAHAHA. Please, people, next time don't jump on the display units. Especially after eating so much! Hahahah!

Angelina :] The reason we insisted on going out today a last time before she leaves for Sarawak. We won't see her for another seven months or so!
After furniture-browsing at IKEA, we went to the food court and the girls ate hotdogs and ice-cream and coffee. :] We also tapao-ed currypuffs. Remember: buy half a dozen! Always cheaper! :D RM 5.50 for 6 currypuffs but RM 1.10 for each if you buy five. So, buy SIX!! You can always freeze it in the freezer. Seriously. HAhaha.

After that, we went to TESCO to look for some stationery for Cheryl. :] I pointed out JomBali Cafe to them -- the place rocks, really! The food is great and reasonably priced! :]
Buuuuttt ... of course .....
SS2 MURNI is the BEST!!! :D

Cheese naan. ;] Nice, kinda like Rotiboy without the coffee and more butter. But I wouldn't recommend this when there are so many others things to eat!! :]

This is the Chicken Maryland (the near-RM10 one, not the RM4 one). It was DELICIOUS. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS.

And last but not least, my personal favourite, the Roti Hawaii! :D :D :D
Words cannot describe this dish. It is like ... a whole array of different things inside, and when you just cut a small piece and put it in your mouth, close your eyes and just SAVOUR the taste ... just ...
OMG JUST TRY THIS OK.
And all those 3 dishes (PLUS DRINKS: lime juice, teh ais, and a mango special) only came up to RM22.60.
:]
Only in Malaysia.
Okay have a good weekend everyone!! :]

hey Sha!

Hahahaha.
I reaalllllly love this post. It's just so YESTERDAY in the sense that you couldn't have decribed it better.
I liked your house a lot. Thanks for Freakonomics.

And what better way to celebrate Angelina by going to all the places she's never been to?
Hahaha. She really enjoyed herself, as can be seen from those pics. Seriously too bad Faan Jin wasn't around.
But we really really enjoyed ourselves..thanks for the great reminder of that day on your blog.
