American Idol 2008

Okay! Season 7 of American Idol is SO GOOD that I can no longer resist blogging about it! :D

I mean, I love music. Like, I really breathe-eat-sleep music. Not that I'm any good at it, but it gets into my skin and literally invigorates me. Like, if I could turn all the words I use in a day (and that's a LOT, because I talk A LOT) into one glorious melody, I would!

And American Idol is like .......... my salvation.
Yeah man! One of my salvations, anyway. Hahahaha.

So people, freakin' tune in every Wednesday and Thursday evening at 6pm, Starworld Channel 711 already! I'm just dying to talk about American Idol with someone - anyone! - and my little world seems to be void of fellow AI fans. :( Thank you very much, law school. We both know it's all your fault.

Anyway - enough of the pessimism!! :D I have to tell you about my 3 favourite contestants!
They're already in the top 24, so *hopefully* we (well, I, at least) will be seeing a lot more of 'em!

#1: Michael Johns
#2: Brooke White
#3: David Archuleta

Click here, you'll see who I'm talking about: http://www.americanidol.com/contestants/season7/

And thanks to the devastatingly gorgeous Aussie Michael Johns, I have a wonderful new obsession: Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody! :D :D :D You can go and download the video clip off YouTube (both of him singing it, or the original Queen music video).

My dearest classmates, this is what you will be hearing me sing all day next week:
"Mama ... just killed a man ...
Put a gun against his head, pulled my trigger, now he's dead ...
Mama ... life had just begun ...
But now I've gone and thrown it all away ...
Mama ... ooooo ...
Didn't mean to make you cry
If I'm not back again this time tomorrow
Carry on, Carry on
As if nothing really matters ..."

OK that's as much as I can sing because I don't have the patience to learn up the whole song. :) It's also an insanely difficult song! Plus it has words I probably am not allowed to publicly say in this country. OHOHO and I've been trying to learn up Josh Groban's "You Raise Me Up" on piano ... and it might just be about the most difficult song I've ever set my heart on learning! Any of you (my friends) out there know how to play it? I could use some pointers. I'm currently learning it bar by *frigging* bar.

Yes. This is what happens when you abandon your musical education at fifteen. :(

But music is still my salvation!! :D
