That's unbelievable. Unacceptable, actually, but alas! Who am I to plead for time to stop?
I measure time like this: Months drawing closer to May = Exam.
But enough of the shirty details, something very funny happened today! During break in Land Law class today, my classmate Mak suddenly stuck his cellphone to my ear, and there was this dude on the phone asking me "Hallo? Miss Pung? I'm calling from e-lawyer ... etc, etc"
And the first thing I thought was: "what la! another prank call!" - because, well, more than a month ago, another one my classmates (You Know Who You Are!!) called me up pretending to be from some big-shot law firm offering me a position in their firm - so now I'm extra-cautious! ;)
But anyway, today, the dude was for real la, and he was calling from E-Lawyer congratulating me on winning their lucky draw - hahahahahahaha. Turns out he called me at home but I was in school.
If you wanna 'kaypo' and see: http://www.elawyer.com.my/blog/2008/02/20/elawyer-lucky-draw-winners/ - the dude told me to check out this webpage for the prizes - and the coolest prize (which everyone is probably hoping for!) is the Ipod Shuffle. But they're only giving ONE of those out. And we don't know who's getting what prize. :) My classmate, Mak, got lucky-drawed, too!
So, they're having an awards ceremony on Saturday (awards ceremony for lucky draw! hahahaha that's funny tooo) in UM. But I can't make it, so my classmates will be helping me to collect my "award". HAhahahaa.
Thank you, e-lawyer! :)
*PS: I usually only upload photos on Facebook these days, so apologies for the lack of pics here!
Besides ticklishly funny lucky draws, I haven't been so fortunate re other aspects of my little world at the moment. We've got a really demanding House of Lords group project that's like, taking up ALL our sodding time - not to mention tutorials and Writing Credit, on top of trying to study for the final exams. For the House of Lords thing alone, to date I've read FOUR different textbooks on the stupid little topic, and over half a dozen articles which run dozens of pages long - and - guess what? I still haven't found the "real" answers to the question we've been set.
The House of Lords project is a nightmare. Like, a waking nightmare. For extremely three-dimensional reasons which I won't say here, because the whole thing is complicated enough without me having to write ballads about it. Bottom line - considering I'm a steadfast believer to the "everything happens for a reason" motto, I figured that no matter how bad things get, I'll come out of it a stronger person. :) So the silver lining of the cloud, even if it's like, REALLY HARD TO SEE, is still there. Besides, I'm still grateful for many aspects of this group project. If you can find it in you to laugh and smile about something that's stressing you out, you're still okay. :)
And thank goodness I'm not in it alone. Luckily I've got friends on my team who I'm so grateful for having around. :D
Okay - back to House of Lords reading. I have to go and read more articles to hopefully find more implications. This is our set question:
Assess the implications of reforming the composition of the House of Lords for the position of the House within the Constitution.
