The essential question is not, "How busy are you?" but "What are you busy at? Are you doing what fulfills you?" -Oprah Winfrey

Don't tell me.

I bring busy-ness unto myself. >.< href="http://theshoppingwhisperer.blogspot.com/">http://theshoppingwhisperer.blogspot.com/ if you want to, but everything is already considered sold out. :)

I thought it would be a cool summer project, where any profit I make will go to charity (decided to give to an orphanage - now going to decide which orphanage - does anyone have any suggestions?). :) At the same time, it was truly a wonderful, rewarding and priceless learning experience.

In 4 days from set-up to closing, I had to:
- Build the website (luckily I'm an avid blogger here, on my personal blog! hehe)
- Create and stock everything that I could sell
- Photograph (the items themselves & when they were being modelled by Shaza ;D Thanks, babe!)
- Photoshop (just to describe & add fonts, not to alter how the clothes/accessories look)
- Market (in description & wording on the website)
- Advertise (from e-mailing review blogs, e-mailing my friends, MSN-ing them, and advertising on random online shops - catchy phrases were very necessary there because there are SO many advertisements!!)
- Respond to orders (a crash course in the field of back-out buyers, haha >.<) and enquiries - Confirm orders & delivery methods (whether postage or Cash On Delivery) - Update the website for status of the items - Go to the post office and ask friends who are blogshop owners about postage charges & how-to - Next step: Delivering the items by post & arranging meet-ups with the others :) - Final step: Donating to an orphanage :) I now know how horribly difficult it is to run an online store! Hahahaha. And I'm pretty sure I will not voluntarily run a part-time business while I am still studying, because it is truly a lot of work and requires a lot of time & commitment & stress-management. It's like running a small company while being a student - I truly admire those blog shop owners now! :) But it's been a good (albeit short) run, and I'm very happy I decided to do it. :) I feel so lucky to have been able to do this! :D At least I've probably done something more worthwhile in the last 5 days than just watch TV like I'm pretty sure I otherwise would've done. ;) (not that there is anything wrong with that! I love tv! haha!) And I made some new friends!! :D Hehehe! I'm always more than happy to meet new people! :) You never know how a stranger can change your life or at least your perspective! :)

And now, just as the online store's hectic-ness is winding down (since I've officially announced it to be inactive - I have no more stocks to sell! >.<>EXAM RESULTS WILL BE RELEASED.

Lol! How many people's bubbles did I ruin by writing that there? :P hahahahaha. sorry lah. But don't worry okay (I say that so simply, but actually I'm probably going to be worrying on that day also hahaha), whatever is done is done. :) We can only look forward!!

And then the 30th of November is someone's birthday. ;)

That someone is me, btw. >.<>

26 27 28 29 30, 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 ...

13 days left until classes start again. What??!! o_O

In that case, I can only hope it's true what people say, "time flies when you are having fun"! ;) Because I don't think I got to relax yet... argh. I guess I can relax when I am old and retired. Hahaha. And no word from my journalism lecturer about the Research Assistant position since he mentioned he is shortlisting me - I don't know if it is a good or bad thing actually...

I really want the experience of being a research assistant, but at the same time, I want to concentrate on my psychology classes, work, assignments, tests, and exams.

But just because I want it doesn't mean I'll get it, or that I should try to get it, one must not be too greedy after all. ;)

Hmm. Best to sleep on it. Gdnite, and have a good week/end, all! :)

PS: Special thanks to my friends Michelle (ABLINC! :D), Cyren, Jenny, Shern Ren, Shaza, An & Jen, and Shangari for supporting The Shopping Whisperer by purchasing items from the online store! :)
