"Let's be naughty and save Santa the trip." - Gary Allen -

Christmas is here, and I celebrate it by waking up in the middle of the day and wondering why Christmas is almost over already. -_-"

But I get to show you (i.e. my friends who actually visit this extremely-individual-centric website, haha) my spanking new cropped jacket! :D After hunting for one for weeks, by a stroke of luck, I spotted exactly what I was looking for - tried it on, and it fit!

Now I can wear all my sleeveless clothes without terrorising the world with my flabby arms! :D

And for just RM23.90. :) :) :)

The ones I was looking at on blogshops cost over RM40. :/ One would think that clothes online should be sold for lower prices than retail outlets outside (which need to pay for overhead like rent, staff, license, etc)... but more than half the time, one would be sorely mistaken. :(

Tried a new appetizer at my edible House of Worship - TGI Friday's - the "Mac and Cheese"! :) It was pretty good, particularly liked how it was warm from the inside. I would recommend it to anyone who likes cheese and macaroni and fried food. :D

I'm not really so keen on going to TGIF's so often anymore (as much as I love it!!), because I realise how properly expensive the food is, compared to some other makan places... but we went there the other day because as a lucky thank-you for making it my edible HOW (House of Worship), TGIF's gave us a free sizzling fajita set (worth about RM40) on the house! :D As well as a free 3-course-meal (worth another RM40). Whee~~~

Hahaha, I like free stuff! <3>
And what's even cooler than free stuff?

... Earning money! :D

After a somewhat extended and semi-gruelling selection process, my journalism lecturer has finally picked his English, Malay and Mandarin research assistants! The Tamil position is still up for grabs. Haha.

So anyway, yours truly is the Research Assistant for Bahasa Melayu. :D I thought my Malay language would be rusty as a nail, but when I did the coding test, I found it even easier to process information in BM (i.e. read faster).

Oh, boy. I wonder if that means my command of English is going downhill. :/ Hahaha.

But whatever! Haha! The English RA is an IT grad named Marc, Mandarin one is a 2nd-year Arts student named Kai Ing, and Mr Wong Chin-Huat is our supervisor. We had our first official meeting Tuesday afternoon - it went on for FOUR hours - and were given our work kits (including a 2GB pendrive! :D which we get to KEEP after our work is done! haha!).

OH and another really cool part is that we have our very own office!! :D Hahaha! It's at 2-2-26 (easy to remember, right? hehe, very useful for forgetful people like me!) - and Kai Ing and I get our own cubicles. Marc and Chin-Huat have their own offices (cheh wahhh~) so they don't need to cramp in the cupboard space with us. Lol!

It's our office for 2 months (now until 22nd February 2009) so we can even decorate the place! Hahaha! I'll be bringing in photographs of Troy (my dog, not Troy Bolton from High School Musical) and Bunny to pin up first thing Tuesday next week (which is when work begins). :D

Only joking! I don't have spare photos of them. :( Hahaha. But I'll think of a way to personalise the work space. I never understand offices that remain cold and empty! I can't wait to have my own permanent cubicle when I start working as a fully-employed adult! :D

Anywayyyy, I'm just asking rhetorical questions now, but ...

... what's even more fun than earning money?

Hahahahahaha... at the risk of sounding like a spoilt brat, I'm going to be completely honest here and say...

... spending money! :D

Shaz and I are going clothes-hunting this Saturday at Bargain Paradise (not a real place, its actual name is "Sungei Wang Plaza" LOL), so I'll be keeping an eye out for:

1) My first high-waisted skirt! I reckon I should at least try some on at the stores, see how they look on me. :) America Ferrerra looks beautiful in it! :D

2) This satin ribboned-sash blouse that I've been hoping to find for months - but still haven't. :( It looks gorgeous, but I don't know if I should trust these heavily-photoshopped, professionally-photographed catalogue pictures.

* Edit (26 Dec 2008): Found the blouse, May Ching (a friend I made through my ex-online-store! :D) spotted it and sent me the link - but the measurements proved to be riskily too small for me. So I shall not be getting this blouse! :( *

3) A long cardigan! :) Probably everyone has one of these already... but I'm still waiting for that ideal one. Haha, it's like one of those "I'll know it when I see it" things. ;)

*Edit (27th December, 2008): I've found a black cardigan I love!! :D Yay!

4) I don't know how to describe these pinafore things, but they usually never fit me (not that I've tried any of these on). Anywho, no harm looking for these in Sg Wang! :D Trying doesn't mean have to buy, hehe!

*Edit (26th December, 2008): During my Boxing Day shopping today, I've found, tried on and purchased this (picture below)!! :D Massive haggling took place, and I got it at 50% less than the original price. It was exhausting... but ultimately, rewarding! :D

[The shopkeeper is holding up the dress for me to take a picture of. LOL!]

5) And my goodness la, it's taking me so long to find a vest/waistcoat that I like. Hahaha. The last time I went to Sg Wang, I was sick and wasn't in the mood to try anything on... but this time, I will sleep early and eat healthy and all that stuff before I go! Hahaha! Must be READY this time. Did I also mention that this Saturday's hunting trip will only be my 2nd time ever in Sg Wang? :D

*Edit (27th December 2008): I am no longer seeking a vest! I've decided that I don't need it, haha!
And that more or less sums up the more interesting items on my shopping list for this year (and the next), haha. And just in case one of my friends out there want to get me clothes as a gift, please, please, don't - they're expensive and they may not fit. :) The above is NOT a wish-list.

Leave clothes-shopping to me, I find it to be a fun and relaxing hobby! :D

Merry Christmas to all, and a Happy New Year! :)

Heyy babe!

Yup, some blogshops are pricier than most physical stores--that's true... because we, blogshop owners, couldn't buy at bulk prices such as big company/corporations have...

For example; a wholesaler might sell us a skirt for RM30 (cost price) because we might just buy 12 pieces of it..while big companies such as Tesco or even Cat's Whiskers will get RM20/piece for the same skirt because they'll buy 100-1000 pieces of em...

So we, blogshop owners, beg to differ..:P

I like to think blogs selling clothes as more like fashion buyers--where we select and highlight interesting pieces of outfits so that shoppers can idly browse and choose the items they like...without leaving the comforts of their homes...

Much love!
