"The smell of ink is intoxicating to me - others may have wine, but I have poetry." -Abbe Yeux-verdi

Gossip Girl is my guilty pleasure
I love shopping beyond measure
To me laughter is a national treasure
My life's mission is to not crack under pressure.

Above is the first poem I've written in years.

I reckon my poetry-writing days may have peaked at the age of 13, with "Paradox of Time".

I shall stick to writing, reading, and talking for now.

Speaking of writing - the new MonGa editor, CK, sent me a new assignment for the upcoming issue! It was so much fun to write. :) I'm looking forward to playing a more active role in the new editorial board this year - eventhough it sort of happened by accident (I have no idea how the new editors got hold of my e-mail address), it's been so long since I've had this kind of opportunity! It's been over 3 years, to be exact. 3 years since Nostalgia.

The exhibitionist/writer in me misses it.

CK called it "showtime".

Hahahaha! :)

Also, the article that Kimberly and I wrote for last year's issue of MonGa (which has not yet been released for distribution) is possibly GWTW (Gone With The Wind). If the issue doesn't come out, our article won't come out - and since the new editors are taking over (ever since "Smile" won over "Speak" in the recent Student Council elections), I'm not sure if the old editors still get to publish an issue.

But it's not within my control, so, I'll just let it be. :)

Back to Utusan Malaysia now.

You know, I've come to realise that I would never pay money to read that newspaper!
The only reason I'm even touching it is because I'm getting paid to read it.

LOL!
PS: I'm still rooting for Danny Gokey to win American Idol 2009!
But my other favourites are:
  • Dark-haired, light-eyed mysterious sex god Adam Lambert
  • Geek-turned-singing-sensation Anoop Desai
  • Sweetheart Kai Kalama
  • Blue-collar papa Michael Sarver
  • Brave, ultra-talented Scott Macintyre
  • And Stevie Wright, because she reminds me of Liv Tyler (whom I love!)

And who I *didn't* pick as favourites so far?

  • Nick Mitchell - I feel sorry for him, but at the same time his multiple-personality thing can get a bit annoying. It just detracts from the fact that he's not the best vocalist in the competition.
  • Tatiana Del Toro - one word: ANNOYING! She's so beautiful and graceful-looking, but the moment she opens her mouth and those shrill noises come out in those pig-slaughter squeals... I really feel like switching off the idiot box... if it weren't for my primal need to see Danny Gokey appear on the air again.
  • Stephen Fowler - he reminds he of a male diva. He banged on the keyboards in a huffy departure when he kept screwing up on his song - and he isn't even famous yet! And then when the judges told him he made it into the top 36, he wasn't humbled or moved by it - instead, he was so smug. I personally felt, in that moment I saw his reaction, that there were plenty of other more deserving singers who were booted out.

The others... I can't really remember anything memorable about them. Hehe.

Can't wait for the next episode!! :)
