Monash University Sunway Campus: Infected with Influenza A (H1N1)

It was only a matter of time :(

A message from Angie Ng - Manager, Student Administration and Systems

On 7 August a Monash student was confirmed to have contracted the H1N1 virus. It is believed that the infection may have spread from a person
who had been in the UK.

All other students in the same class were monitored for flu-like symptoms. Several students underwent further testing and monitoring at the Sunway Medical Centre. All students in the same class were then asked to leave the campus and exercise 'social distancing' for one week. Campus rooms that may have been used were disinfected.

The campus instituted rapid-scan temperature checking at its gates, on a
voluntary basis but we anticipate that all will undergo scanning. People
who register an elevated temperature will be requested to not enter the
campus and immediately seek medical attention. People confirmed to have
contracted the virus should stay at home and practice 'social distancing',
should adhere to strict personal hygiene and cough etiquette, and must
not enter the campus until cleared by a medical practitioner. Use of a three-ply face-mask has been recommended by health authorities; masks are available from the Occupational Safety and Health unit and at the campus gates.

Further advice is available from the (+60 3) 5514 5600 hotline.

Naturally, my parents have set a mini-quarantine for me. Go to classes and come straight home. No KLPAC, no Sungei Wang, no going out, no meeting strangers.

Welcome to the age of the pandemic! :(

On a brighter note, behold - my latest online conquest! :D

I didn't want the studded belt, but Nicole insisted they be sold (in my case, traded) together. Hehe so anyway, win-win situation - I love the dress (and it comes with the belt) and she loves my advertorials. :D

Welcome to the age of Barter trading. :)
