Red shoes and sunstroke.

Apparently all it takes is three hours in the hot sun to make me sick :(

Red laced-up wedges from Style Nanda, via Korean Fashion Station

I really believe I would feel a lot better if a new pair of South Korean shoes would adorn my feet. I've been saving and saving to treat myself to a nice pair of new shoes, but just as I was about to buy a gorgeous pair of black laced-up booties with purple piping ... they've all been reserved by the Koreans themselves! :(

Left: The pair I wanted | Right: The pair I'm considering buying instead

I've noticed that I never seem able to get Korean shoes right away - they're always sold out! Remember the denim sneaker heels? They were sold out at Cherry Koko after I chose it, and I was just lucky to find the same pair in Redopin. Unfortunately this time, I couldn't find the same pair anywhere else. Looks like Ippiya was selling a really unique pair!

My status update on my YSK email was:
"The sound of a heart breaking: the wail of a shopaholic when she finds out the shoes she wants are sold out!"
Of course, a part of me really likes the red wedges instead - and that part of me is considering buying those instead. But knowing my luck, they'll probably be sold out the moment I place my order! :(

In the meantime, I've resigned myself to keep my head down and do my YSK work. I resolve to only go out when I'm fully recovered from this horrible flu and sore throat. The workaholic-shopaholic conundrum continues ...

Plus this pair of shoes above is already on its way over to me from somewhere across the seas, courtesy of Grace. Sadly, though, I know they probably won't fit - seeing as the shoes are meant to fit 24.5cm feet, but mine are 25cm. But hopefully the lace will give me some room! I fit into those Agape Boutique wedges fine. Hmm.

PS: But look who I gave a Chanel-inspired floral lace bag to for her birthday! ;)

Urbanscapes!

Hello! :D Here I am, sunburnt beyond recognition on every inch of exposed skin except for my face - thanks to my BB cream, hehe! Urbanscapes has finally arrived - and passed! - and I came home without any new treasures to call my shopping haul. Wah! I guess it was because it was really too hot and my friends and I didn't appreciate the muddy grass ... so no mood lah to shop :(

All in all, we were ill-prepared for a hot day in the middle of an open field :P I didn't even wear any sunblock - genius, I know - or bring enough water, which resulted in three of us spending RM18 on F&N canned drinks in the three hours we were there!

But because my best friends were there, I had tonnes of fun! :D

"Look out for that car behind you, Carrie!"

Group photo! "Must see the Urbanscapes banner in the background yah!"

Only my second time ever in KLPac! Beautiful place.

Wah even the rules manage to look cool!

A video to show you what it was like:

Adorable An Nie | Awesome Carmen! (I love her floral ring! Vintage-inspired from F21)

My beautiful friends~~

LOL so much going on!

Bumped into friends from Monash! :D Weiyan in blue, Cyren with yummy cookies!

I feel tempted to get this Archie Grand notebook from I Love Snack Food!

I met Jaclyn!! AT LAST! :D Now the only person in the 38 Gang left to meet is Nath!

I'm so happy to see An Nie again! :D

Snacks! :D

The weather was SOOO hot! Yet Jenny wore the cardigan she wears to uni :D

After Urbanscapes, we went to pick up An Nie's younger sister from the legendary Kuen Cheng High School! :D

I even made a little video, hehehehe! :D

On a rather separate note:

I love these shoes from Honeyiqi - but they're 47,900 Won. That's about RM128. At the same time, I know the quality is going to be worth it - it's from Korean Fashion Station after all! :D - but I'm not sure if I'll find these shoes comfortable. They're very different from the super-comfy sneaker heels ... hmmmmm.
Update (27 June): Gah! The shoes above have just been sold out in my size (250)! T.T

Recently, I'm just so frustrated with the shoes I'm buying in malls here - they keep spoiling so quickly! :( Another pair died on me today, with the sole peeling off again. Where can I buy shoes, people?! Shoes that last me way longer than 5 wears or so?

... and the hunt begins. LOL.

And when I said I returned home without any shopping haul, it's 99.9% true! :P I really didn't buy anything - except drinks - but Jenny and I ordered three identical dove rings to be made by Jess (The Aura) - one each for Jen, Shang, and myself! :D We're pretty excited for the rings to be ready, which should be sometime next month! :)

Blog! I've missed you!

Say it with me now: "Exams are OVER!" And wow, this officially marks the end of my second year at Monash University! :D Driving to uni for my exam this afternoon, I couldn't help reflecting on how much I love it here - from the buildings and lecturers, to the things I learn and the friends I've made - and how even exam stress here is never that awfully stressful. If there's any place to learn the "Can Do" attitude, it's my wonderful university :) Serious!

Mummy's birthday celebration last weekend - her sister bought this delicious cake from Baker's Cottage!

My two grandmas - paternal on the left, maternal on the right :)

This picture is my favourite "exam fever" shot: my favourite floral scrunchie my grandma made - I have to tie up my hair for exams! - and I put a highlighter on my dressing table to remind myself to pack my pencilcase for the exam.

"Exams are over!" celebrations begin! Left: Deliriously happy Mandy | Right: Sushikins!

I finally gave Shang her birthday present! :D And after-exam celebrations at Popeyes!

Spotted: Forever 21 now has an RM29 section of basic tops and corporate blouses!
Also spotted: A pro-gay mannequin in Kitschen :D Fyi, the mannequin is male.

The first round of post-exam shopping celebrations! :D Everywhere is on sale!
Floral dress from Cotton On | Cosmic shoulder dress from Kitschen *in love with this!*

My sneaker heels from Redopin via Korean Fashion Station - LOVE!

Today: Exam-is-over celebrations began! :D Right after the Authorship paper, Shang, Sushi and I went to Pyramid for a very early dinner - we were starving - at Popeyes! :) Then we went shopping! :D Shang bought tanks from Forever 21 and Nichii, Sushi bought soap powder from JUSCO. LAL (read: Laugh A Lot). Then my parents threw an awesome barbecue party, so I can't believe it's 1.40am already as I'm typing this, I'm so totally going to go to sleep after I post this up!

Tomorrow: Urbanscapes! And I'm finally seeing Carmen and An Nie again after aeons!

What?!

I'm trying to figure out what the heck auteur-structuralism is. It is proving very difficult to Google a clear explanation!

And a quickie Love It!

Last exam tomorrow. So close, yet many hours of work have to be squeezed in before tomorrow!

Dior.

It's taken me nearly 22 years to realise that my mother loves perfume. As luck would have it, I managed to get sample vials of Nina Ricci, Gucci by Gucci, Chloe Intense, JLo Sunkissed - and a 50ml bottle of Euphoria by Calvin Klein and a (tiny) 4ml bottle of Vera Wang parfum, from PerfumeBerry. :) Thanks, Iza! Really prompt service and delivery!

I know people usually don't buy perfumes online for fear of authenticity, but these are my advertisers and I feel like I can trust them, so yeah - why not? :D They guaranteed that these are genuine, non-fake perfumes. And miniature perfumes are so cute and travel-friendly!

And this next one's gonna be a surprise (sort of) ...

Dior Parfums miniature set, from Fluorescent Adolescence

Happy birthday, Mummy! :)
